Karen Frigstad's Story
|
Karen was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) in April of 1999. The diagnosis came only after many tests to try to determine the cause of a hand tremor and some gait imbalance. After the diagnosis, Karen and her family became involved with the Bob Allison Ataxia Research Center (BAARC) at the University of Minnesota to be proactive in the fight against Ataxia.
Karen lives in Eagan, Minnesota with her husband Todd and twin daughters Julia and Anna, born in May of 2003. Karen and Todd take part in Ataxia events throughout the year, including the Major League Fair and Bob Allison Ataxia Golf Tournament, in addition to organizing Karen's Hope.
